A Journey Fueled by Passion and Expertise
A proud Nova Scotian, Chef Dinu honed his skills through a Culinary Management degree from Fanshawe College, setting the foundation for a career dedicated to the art of cooking. His early experiences at Sun Baked Café and a three-year tenure at Lower Deck Bar & Grill sharpened his techniques and deepened his appreciation for local flavors. As Chef de Cuisine at Delta Halifax, he spent three years refining his leadership and culinary innovation before taking on the role of Lead Cook at Shannex, further showcasing his versatility.
In 2020, Chef Dinu took a bold step into entrepreneurship, launching Spice Hub Restaurant in Dartmouth, where he crafted unique flavors that quickly earned him a loyal following. Now, at Driftwood Coastal Diner, he brings that same dedication, creativity, and love for local ingredients to curate a menu that pays homage to Halifax’s favorite coastal flavors, served in a warm, laid-back atmosphere.
